If you are planning your wedding on a tight budget, one of the easiest ways to cut costs is by creating your own wedding invitations using one of a number of DIY invitation kits. Highlight your wedding colors, use a background image of the two of you or choose a beautiful floral design that matches the flowers you have chosen for your bouquets. Many DIY kits include all you will need for each invitation, including the heavy cardstock invitation, RSVP card with envelope and a matching outer envelope. Some kits even come with spare envelopes and test sheets so you can print a sample before using the actual invitation paper.
You don’t need to be creative to produce top quality wedding invitations, but it does help! By using Adobe or Photoshop, you can create a background collage of photos for your invites. You can even scan through bridal magazines to get ideas of invitations that professional printers have created. If you are an avid scrapbooker – or know someone that is – you can add pretty wedding-themed embellishments to each invitation and give your guests a one-of-a-kind creation that will also save you a few dollars over hiring a professional printer.
