Although it may not be the most popular season for weddings, winter is a great time of year to be married! Oftentimes it will be easier to book the venue and reception location of your choice, your guests will find less conflicts with a winter wedding date, and you can turn your wedding into a mystical wonderland filled with glittering snowflake decorations. Another wonderful benefit to your winter nuptials are the cooler temperatures – your make-up won’t run and your groomsmen won’t be sweltering in their tuxedos in the summertime heat.
Once you choose a winter wedding date, you will be able to tie in the season with all parts of your wedding – from invitations to decorating to winter wedding flowers – even your food can reflect a winter scheme. In the next few days I will touch on some unique winter wedding ideas that will make you glad you chose a non-traditional time of year for your wedding.
A common color scheme for winter weddings is light blue/ice blue and silver. You can also customize your wedding with heavier fabrics such as brocade, velvet or fur.
