Do you give groomsmen gifts?

Most grooms do indeed give a gift to their groomsmen. It’s not so easy being in a bridal party and it’s much easier to attend a wedding as a "guest." 

Groomsmen have to get fitted for tuxedos, typically renting them or purchasing them. They also have to make availability for photos and usually that means they are separated from their partner or spouse. It’s very nice to give them some kind of token of appreciation for their hard work.

What are groomsmen gifts?

I can tell you what I think are the “best” groomsmen gifts: I believe no guy wants cufflinks with their initials on them, or a pair of socks with their monogram.

For some reason people feel like groomsmen gifts should be something related to "dressing up." I see so many grooms giving their guys bow ties or cufflinks or gifts related to what they should be wearing that day. I say forget that and go with something fun!

Guys want something they would never buy themselves and something that is super fun and manly. I had a groom once take my advice and buy every groomsman a remote-controlled helicopter. It was the most well-received gift I've ever seen. Buy them something that is exciting like a toy they can play with, something tech-related, or even a nice cell phone battery case. Anything but cuff links!

When should I give my groomsmen their gifts?

I am a fan of getting them their gifts on the day of rehearsal. It's one less thing to worry about on your wedding day!

How much should I spend on groomsmen gifts?

This really depends on each individual situation, but everyone should keep in mind the costs groomsmen have to bear, such as renting shoes and a tuxedo and traveling to your wedding. I think a minimum of $75 up to $250 is really nice.

How much should you spend on a best man gift?

This can be the same amount as spent on every other groomsman. Really the best man is only different in title, as they are putting in the same amount of work and time in as the other groomsmen.
