The dessert lover in me is all about the cake so looking for inspirational blue and brown wedding cake designs was a pleasure. I just wish that I could taste all these masterpieces to make sure that they taste as good as they look. When you are choosing the baker for your wedding cake, be sure to get a feel for his/her work by looking through their portfolio and make sure you taste samples of their cake too. You wouldn't want to end up with a lovely cake that doesn't taste so great. Many-a-bride have made that mistake so please don't be one of them.
Incorporating a blue and brown color scheme in the cake can be accomplished through the use of colored fondant or butter cream icing along with embellishments such as colored ribbons and gum paste flowers. As you can see in the photo below, there are a wide range of both modern and whimsical designs that could be used to incorporate your color scheme so before you head to your baker, have something in mind (so you can be sure that your cake fits with your style as well as your color scheme).
Although only one of these cakes has a "topper" (the cream roses), I do like the use of modern wedding cake toppers like those that incorporate the bride and groom's initials. You can even find ones that incorporate Swarovski crystals for an elegant look.
